Native human Collagen IV isolated from human placenta. Type IV Collagen is the predominant form of collagen present in the extracellular matrix of basement membranes, which serve as a structural barrier between various epithelial and endothelial cells. This collagen type is a key constituent of the dermal-epidermal junction, particularly concentrated within the dense layer known as the lamina densa. This molecule is a heterotrimer, consisting of two Alpha 1-like subunits and one Alpha 2-like subunit.
